Rachael Miller

Multimedia Fluid Artist

I specialize in acrylic pouring. I pour paint onto canvas, wood, and other flat and three dimensional surfaces. Pouring paint is a complicated and tedious art form. It takes a few trial and errors to get it right. The more you experiment, the more enjoyable pouring paint becomes. When you know how to use your tools, pouring paint turns into a meditative process.

Every fluid artist works differently, and there are many ways to mix and pour. The pour is always unknown and each one turns out unique. Original pours are one-of-a-kind works. You cannot plan what your pour will look like. You can only choose your color palette and how you want to pour and tilt.

Painting this way taught me a lot about patience and the acceptance of the unknown. This art form can connect you to the present moment. Your skill is not based on planning. It’s based on your ability to improvise and go with the flow. Alive are those who live in the present.

Painting Sadie Reppucci

I’ve wanted to paint on a person for a long time. Finally, I got to paint on dancer and good friend, Sadie Reppucci. Amazing cinematographer Joseph Michael filmed this beautiful video. Please support by watching, liking and commenting.

For tips and techniques, check out my youtube channel. The swipe technique is one of the most interesting ways to fluid paint. It creates a mesmerizing cell pattern and is one of the most complicated and spontaneous art techniques I’ve ever learned.
